Open Studio

The Open Studio classes are designed to give regular tuition throughout the year and are open to all levels of binders, from beginners to the more experienced. Grouped in to 3 terms of five sessions each, students are able to learn at a continuous, steady pace.

Those just starting out are given a solid grounding in traditional methods and structures along with instruction in the correct use of tools and materials. Others with bookbinding experience have the opportunity to learn new skills and perfect old ones. All areas of interest are catered for, whether it's in restoration, repair, cloth and leather bindings, box making, or work of a more contemporary nature. Everyone works at their own speed and on their own projects under my guidance.

The Saturday classes formerly held in Salisbury will now take place at Hazel Bank Studio, Beechingstoke, near Pewsey, in Wiltshire. The Wednesday classes, already held in Beechingstoke, remain unaffected. Directions to find the studio are on the next page.

Our group has been going strong since 1996 and is an eclectic mix of people from many backgrounds. The ethos of the studio is to uphold sound principles of craftsmanship and maintain good work ethics. And we have a lot of fun doing it.

If you would like to learn something new, then please get in touch. There are currently spaces available in both locations.
